My last blog post was in 2023. This one is in mid 2026, alot has changed in-between, personally and professionaly. Lets start in-order.
2024 was the year of instability. I resigned from the job in-search of better one and do freelance in the mean time. But an ex-client offered me to work with him on his product Project David. We worked from idea to MVP and got grants to support the development. Unfortanetly we were too early. The tokenization was still young and there were lots of regulatory hurdles. We paused the development. In October 2024, we found a white-paper on the encumbered wallets, and decided to build the market for unvested tokens using approach mentioned in encumbered wallets. We applied for the grant and it was approved thankfully.
I also did Kashmir to Naran trek 6 days trek in Septemeber 2024, first and longest trek of my life but worth it!
We kick-started the development in February 2025 with in-house team. We built the MVP quickly and demoed to several stakeholders in mid of 2025. We saw of alot of interest but again found ourself in gray-area as trading of unvested tokens was not regulated. We quickly pivoted (thanks to my co-founder & CEO) and shifted our focus on digital custodian lending. It took us some months to prepare pilot for the custodian lending but in October we did the pilot and anounced the pilot in Abu Dhabi Finance Week December 2025. It was a major achievement for all of us.
In April 2025, I got engaged, a major personal step in my life (who knew, I wasn't planning this atleast until 2030!).
We continued the development, expanded our team and also researching new solutions. But everthing's going great so far!
Alot has changed if I look back. I never expected I'd working at intersection of defi and fintech but things happened in steps and here we are. I learnt alot. AI has improved exponentially and tokenization has also expanded from 2024.
There're lots of things to learn and to improve both professionaly and personally. I'm planning to move to UAE late this year or early next, and looking forward to expand our company!
